За гарантию платежа, позволяющую учесть вексель на денежном рынке (топеу market) на более благоприятных условиях, взимается плата. Падение объема выдачи векселей вынудило акцептные дома диверсифицировать свою финансовую деятельность; многие из акцептных домов вернулись к своей первоначальной деятельности в качестве торговых банков (см.: merchant bank (торговый банк)).
